Daniel Jones Unlikely To Be Claimed Off Waivers
1 min agoThe New York Giants granted quarterback Daniel Jones' request to be released on Friday, and the sixth-year QB will now be subject to waivers. However, any team claiming him would be responsible for the remaining $11,833,333 he's guaranteed this year, which makes it highly unlikely any team will claim him off waivers. NFL teams interested in signing Jones can do so after 4 pm ET on Monday, although a signing is more likely to happen on Tuesday or Wednesday. The 27-year-old former first-rounder might choose to wait for a quarterback-needy team to emerge later in the season, though. Jones should land on his feet somewhere else eventually, but he won't be guaranteed a starting job after another disappointing season with the G-Men in which he completed 63.3% of his passes for 2,070 yards, eight touchdowns and seven interceptions in 10 starts.
