Tyler Johnson Signs One-Year Deal With Bruins

Veteran forward Tyler Johnson has agreed to a one-year, $775,000 contract with the Boston Bruins. Johnson spent the preseason with the Bruins on a professional tryout agreement, and it was expected that he would eventually sign a standard contract with the team. The best days are clearly behind the 34-year-old Johnson, but he showed last season that there's still some juicy left in him, as he posted 17 goals and 31 points in 67 appearances with the Chicago Blackhawks. Johnson is seven short of hitting 200 career goals and sits on 431 points in 738 career regular-season contests. He'll be a bottom-six piece for the Bruins.
