Blake Lizotte Under Evaluation After Being Hit By Puck
6 months agoPittsburgh Penguins center Blake Lizotte (head) is under evaluation after getting hit by a puck in Sunday's preseason game against Ottawa. Lizotte was struck in the head by a puck while sitting on the Penguins bench and didn't finish the contest. He was scheduled to see a doctor on Monday. Following a disappointing 15-point campaign in L.A., Lizotte signed a two-year, $3.7 million contract with the Penguins this offseason. The 26-year-old is projected to start the season as the team's fourth-line center. However, Sunday's incident could derail those plans.

Blake Lizotte Activated From Injured Reserve
5 months agoPittsburgh Penguins center Blake Lizotte (concussion) has been activated from Injured Reserve ahead of Thursday's meeting with Anaheim. He's available to make his season debut after recovering from a concussion. Lizotte was hurt in a preseason game after linking up with the Penguins on a two-year, $3.7 million deal in the summer. The 26-year-old will fill a bottom-six role on the team. Last season, Lizotte produced 15 points (seven goals, eight assists) in 62 appearances. He has averaged around 0.33 points per game for his career, meaning Lizotte can make an impact offensively at times, but he definitely isn't somebody who gets on the score sheet regularly.

Blake Lizotte Resumes Skating
1 year agoLos Angeles Kings forward Blake Lizotte (lower body) has resumed skating on his own, but there is still no timetable for his return. The young forward suffered a lower-body injury against the Carolina Hurricanes on Jan. 15 and has yet to return to practice. Prior to his injury, the 26-year-old had taken a sizeable step back offensively. He recorded just five goals and nine points across 34 games after tallying a career-high 11 goals and 34 points across 81 games last season. The St. Cloud State product has had his ice time drop to a career-low 11:05 this season, a notable hit from his 12:57 figure from just last season. Even when healthy, he may be squeezed out of the lineup with Viktor Arvidsson (back) set to make his season debut at some point during the team's current four-game road trip.

Blake Lizotte Listed As Week-To-Week
1 year agoLos Angeles Kings forward Blake Lizotte is listed as week to week due to a lower-body injury sustained in a win over the Carolina Hurricanes on Monday. "He'll be out, likely until after our All-Star break," Kings head coach Todd McLellan said on Thursday. The Kings' bye week ends Feb. 9. The 26-year-old has recorded five goals and nine points on 46 shots on goal across 34 games on the season. It's a disappointing result on the heels of an 11-goal, 34-point campaign last year, a career year for Lizotte. He has struggled particularly of late, going pointless in 11 straight games with just three points over his last 23 games. The Kings are 21-12-8 on the season, good for third place in the Pacific Division.
