Ryan Blaney a Risky DFS Pick at Atlanta
3 months agoRyan Blaney is likely to be a relatively popular DFS pick at Atlanta Motor Speedway this weekend, but it doesn't come without some risk. The Team Penske driver qualified second for this weekend's Quaker State 400, and while that is typically a good thing for most races, that's not really the case at superspeedways such as Atlanta because Place Differential is such a major factor in high-scoring lineups at this track type. With that being said, we have had lap leader dominators at Atlanta in the Next Gen era, and Blaney himself has led 51 laps over the last two races here. Will that be enough to get him into the optimal DFS lineup even if he wins the race, though? You probably shouldn't fade Blaney entirely in DFS this weekend, but given his potential for major negative Place Differential points, it may not be a bad strategy move to go underweight on the defending series champ in large-field tournament situations.
