Spencer Schwellenbach To Start On Sunday
4 months agoAtlanta Braves rookie right-hander Spencer Schwellenbach will make his next start this Sunday on the road at Coors Field against the hosting Colorado Rockies. The Braves announced earlier this week that they were going to skip Schwellenbach's next turn through the rotation for rest purposes, but apparently those plans have been scrapped for now. It seems likely that Atlanta will eventually reduce the 24-year-old's workload, though, given the fact that he's already exceeded his innings total from last year by 40 frames. Schwellenbach will have a good matchup against the Rockies this weekend, but hitter-friendly Coors Field isn't ideal. In three starts since the All-Star break, Schwellenbach has allowed only seven earned runs on 15 hits (five homers) while walking none and fanning 29 in 20 innings. Most fantasy managers will be willing to roll the dice in a matchup versus Colorado.
