Vaughn Grissom Reinstated And Optioned To Triple-A
4 months agoThe Boston Red Sox reinstated infielder Vaughn Grissom (hamstring) from the 10-day injured list on Thursday and then optioned him to Triple-A Worcester. Grissom, who was an intriguing breakout player in fantasy in his first year in Boston in 2024, has been far from it this year due to various injuries that have limited him to just 81 at-bats in the big leagues. In those 81 at-bats, hit just .148 with no homers, three RBI and six runs scored in 23 games. We could certainly see Grissom down the stretch to close out the regular season, but it won't change the fact that he's been a massive disappointment after being expected to serve as Boston's starting second baseman. The Red Sox will move forward with a combination of David Hamilton, Romy Gonzalez, Enmanuel Valdez and Nick Sogard at the keystone for now.
