4 months agoThe Houston Astros are calling up outfield prospect Pedro Leon. Leon, 26, will make his big-league debut when he enters his first game. The Cuban signed with the Astros in the 2020-2021 offseason and has spent the last three seasons in Triple-A Sugar Land, where he has hit a minimum of 17 home runs each year. In 2024, Leon has hit .297 with 19 homers, 74 RBI and 23 stolen bases across 93 games. Not only can Leon hit the ball hard, but he is a very good defender and that could open up some opportunities for him at the next level. With outfielder Joey Loperfido on his way to the Toronto Blue Jays, Leon is likely to operate as a fourth outfielder, but if he can prove he can hit at the next level, he could be an intriguing add down the stretch for fantasy managers.
