Rhett Lowder Off To Slow Start Since Double-A Promotion
4 months agoCincinnati Reds pitching prospect Rhett Lowder has struggled a bit since being promoted to Double-A Chattanooga. The right-hander is 1-4 in 12 starts at Double-A with a 6.52 ERA and 1.57 WHIP. Opponents are hitting .319 against Lowder in his Double-A starts. The talented 22-year-old has hit a bump in the road in his first professional season. He has still shown good control with 50 strikeouts and 11 walks but he has been hit hard in Chattanooga. Expect Lowder, MLB's No. 20 overall prospect, to make adjustments in the second half as he continues to adapt to a new level.
