Caden Dana Strikes Out Seven Across Five Frames
6 months agoLos Angeles Angels starting pitching prospect Caden Dana continued his stellar June with another impressive showing on Wednesday evening, where he struck out seven across 5 1/3 frames. He allowed two runs, three hits, and three free passes. Since June 1, the 20-year-old has looked dominant with a 1.71 ERA, 0.91 WHIP, and a 7:32 BB:K. Overall through his first 75 1/3 innings at Double-A, the 2022 draft pick has posted a 2.39 ERA, 0.94 WHIP, and a 24:79 BB:K. Dana is on pace to have the best season of his minor-league career, as he struggled last summer at High-A with a 4.22 ERA and 1.29 WHIP and had a 6.48 ERA and 1.56 WHIP the year prior. Dana is ranked as the No. 2 prospect in the Angeles system on MLB Pipeline and is projected to reach the majors in 2026. However, given how well he is performing now, a 2025 debut is not out of the question.
