Randy Arozarena Scores Game-Winner In 10th Inning
5 months agoTampa Bay Rays outfielder Randy Arozarena went 2-for-3 with a walk, two stolen bases, and was hit by a pitch in Wednesday's 3-2 win over the Twins. The HBP came in the top of the tenth inning, Arozarena then stole second, and came around to score what would eventually be the game-winning run on a Royce Lewis throwing error. The 29-year-old has had a disappointing season to this point, currently slashing .185/.299/.345, but is showing signs of turning things around, recording a .298-2-6-8-2 line in June with two separate five-game hit streaks, more walks than strikeouts (9:8), and even collecting a painful five HBPs in 16 games. The veteran may also be in line for some positive regression as he sports a low .217 BABIP compared to a career BABIP of .317.
