5 months agoBoston Red Sox starting pitcher Luis Perales (elbow) is scheduled to undergo season-ending Tommy John surgery. The right-hander was removed from his start in early June due to right elbow inflammation. Perales underwent further testing which revealed he needed to undergo surgery. This is a shame considering the 21-year-old is one of the top pitching prospects in the Red Sox system. He held a 2.94 ERA and 56/12 K/BB ratio during his time in Double-A this season. The expectation is that Perales won't be on the mound until late 2025.--Andy Webb - RotoBaller
