Moises Ballesteros Promoted To Triple-A
5 months agoChicago Cubs catcher/first base prospect Moises Ballesteros will be promoted to Triple-A Iowa ahead of Monday. MLB Pipeline has Ballesteros as the Cubs No. 6 prospect in a strong system. The 20-year-old has outplayed Double-A pitching at a young age and continues his ascension through the Cubs system. For Double-A Tennessee, Ballesteros hit .299 with nine homers with 43 RBI and an impressive .867 OPS. The Venezuelan native will be one of the younger performers in Triple-A, but it is an impressive feat as to how quickly he has grown. Much of that could be because Ballesteros has a great eye at the plate, limiting his strikeouts. His promotion to Triple-A does not mean that he will reach the big leagues in 2024, but a strong showing could help guide his way to Wrigley Field before all is said and done with the Cubs offense in a major funk. Ballesteros should be rostered in dynasty leagues and managers that have stash spots in redrafts leagues can consider the backstop as Yan Gomes and Miguel Amaya haven't made convincing cases at the big-league level.
