Caden Dana Tosses Seven-Inning Gem on Thursday
6 months agoLos Angeles Angels starting pitching prospect Caden Dana threw seven innings of one-run ball and struck out five en route to his second victory of the season on Thursday. Dana allowed just four hits and one free pass. This outing brings the 20-year-old to a dominant 1.69 ERA and 0.72 WHIP through 37 ⅓ innings in his first taste of Double-A. He has tallied 32 total strikeouts. After posting a modest 4.22 ERA and 1.29 WHIP in 53 ⅓ innings at High-A last season, Dana looks to have found a second gear that has allowed him to succeed against stronger competition. The second-ranked prospect in the Angels system on MLB Pipeline is not projected to reach the majors until 2026, but seeing how well he is performing at Double-A, he could force his way to Triple-A by the end of the summer, which opens the door for a 2025 debut.
