Tyler O'Neill Exits Monday's Game After Collision
7 months agoBoston Red Sox outfielder Tyler O'Neill (head) exited Monday's game against the Cleveland Guardians in the seventh inning after a collision. With the Red Sox trailing 2-0 at the time, O'Neill, third baseman Rafael Devers, and shortstop Ceddanne Rafaela all tried to make a play on a popup hit by Guardians' outfielder Estevan Florial in shallow left field. Devers made the catch but collided with O'Neill in the process. The outfielder eventually walked off the field under his own power and left the game. The 28-year-old appeared to have a cut on his head and will likely go into the league's concussion protocol. Either way, though, it was a good sign to see him walk off under his own power. He is off to a blazing start in 2024, hitting .313 with seven home runs and eight RBI, and he should be rostered in every fantasy league moving forward.
