Kyle Larson Wins The Pole For Martinsville
8 months agoHendrick Motorsports driver Kyle Larson won the pole for this week's Cook Out 400 at Martinsville Speedway. This is the second consecutive pole of the year as well as the fourth of his career at Martinsville. In 18 races at Martinsville, Larson has one win, six top-10 finishes, and is the defending winner of this weekend's Cup event. Larson also led multiple laps in three of his last five Cup starts at MS while placing sixth or better in the last three. In seven races so far this year, Larson has one win and three top-5 finishes, including Bristol and Richmond. In practice, Larson was one of the fastest cars of Group B, had the best 25 and 30 consecutive lap averages, and ranked 11th of all drivers in overall lap averages (second-best of Group B drivers). With top-notch equipment, strong performances at short tracks this year, and practice speeds faster than most, watch for Larson to be one of the top favorites for the win.
