1 year agoColorado Avalanche defenseman Sean Walker sustained an upper-body injury in Saturday's entertaining 7-4 victory over Nashville. He was limited to 11:15 of ice time in the contest, finishing with three shots, one block, three hits, and a minus-one rating. Walker made his 10th appearance for the Avalanche since his trade from Philadelphia at the beginning of the month. He's made an impact at both ends of the ice with four points (three goals, one assist), 14 blocks, and 15 hits. But the 29-year-old might have to sit out some action now. Walker's absence would open the door for Caleb Jones to rejoin the lineup.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller

1 year agoThe Philadelphia Flyers and Colorado Avalanche are working on a trade that would send defenseman Sean Walker to the Avalanche. The 29-year-old is set to be an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season and it's unclear if the move carries with it a contract extension from the Avs. Walker is in the midst of his best NHL season as he has notched a career-high six goals alongside 16 assists and 109 shots across 63 games played. He has added 86 hits and 98 blocks to his ledger while he is a healthy plus-nine on the campaign. The potential move comes at the same time the Flyers are reportedly discussing a contract extension for fellow blueliner Nick Seeler.--Brenton Kemp

1 year agoPhiladelphia Flyers defenseman Sean Walker could fetch as much as a first-round pick in a trade this season, according to TSN's Darren Dreger. "You look at Sean Walker of the Philadelphia Flyers, he's a really strong right-shot defenseman, the Flyers love him, but it's expected they can command as much as a first-round draft pick for him," Dreger said on TSN's Insider Trading. Walker is in the midst of a fine season that has seen him contribute 11 points, 54 shots, 31 hits, 39 blocks, and a plus-seven rating across 26 games in his first season in Philadelphia. He is already just two points shy of matching his production across 70 games with the Kings last season. However, with the Flyers currently sitting second in the Metropolitan Division, a trade of a valuable asset such as Walker is likely not imminent.--Brenton Kemp
