Carson Hocevar will start 25tg in the Toyota Owners 400 at Richmond Raceway. Due to this being Hocevar's first Cup start at the "Action Track," our data is both limited and contradictory for the Spire Motorsports rookie. For example, in his four Truck starts at this track, the 21-year-old has two top-10s, including an impressive win in last year's race. On the flip side, in his three Cup Series races on short tracks, the style of track the series will race on this weekend, his average finish is 23rd and his average DraftKings score is just 19.38. Given that he has looked great in the Truck Series at this track but that he has struggled at short tracks in his Cup starts, our best indicator for what to do with the No. 77 this weekend may just be his practice results, which were not ideal. While this comment may feel like a reference to the fact that he ranked 30th in practice time (22.89), it is actually a reference to the 36 laps he ran, which was tied for third-lowest of the session. Given that this is going to be his first Cup start at this track, Hocevar would have really benefited from more time on the track, which he did not get.
