Joel Embiid Extends Scoring Streak, Injures Knee
11 months agoPhiladelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid (knee) finished with 30 points, 10 boards, and three blocks in Friday's loss to the New York Knicks. The reigning MVP extended his 30-point scoring streak to 16 games. Unfortunately, he suffered a left knee injury, although he finished the game. Embiid downplayed the ailment while speaking to the media after the contest. However, fantasy managers are used to this type of scenario from him over the years, so there's a good chance he may not play in Saturday's meeting with the Utah Jazz. With Tobias Harris (ankle) also in danger of missing that one, Tyrese Maxey and Kelly Oubre Jr. could be the primary scoring options versus Utah. Paul Reed and Mo Bamba could also fill the void in the middle if Embiid misses time, with both men warranting streaming consideration in deeper fantasy setups, even if it's just for a game or two.
