Dodgers Leaning Lance Lynn For NLDS Game 3 Start
1 year agoLos Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said Monday that, while the team considered starting pitcher Ryan Pepiot for the National League Division Series Game 3 start on Wednesday, they are leaning towards veteran Lance Lynn, per MLB.com's Juan Toribio. However, pitching coach Mark Prior suggested that Lynn would be on a short leash if he were to start. The 36-year-old had a career-low regular season, going 13-11 with a 5.73 ERA, 1.39 WHIP, and 23.6% strikeout rate in 32 starts with the White Sox and Dodgers. He does have 58 career postseason innings pitched but has compiled a poor 5.28 ERA and 1.64 WHIP. Now down 2-0 in the series, the Dodgers will need him to step up in whatever capacity he serves.
