Saquon Barkley Listed As DNP Tuesday
1 year agoNew York Giants running back Saquon Barkley (ankle) was listed as a non-participant for the second straight day on Tuesday. Barkley's participation was a projection as the Giants conducted a walkthrough practice. The 26-year-old suffered an "ordinary" right-ankle sprain in the Week 2 win over the Arizona Cardinals. It was initially reported that he could miss three weeks with the injury, but head coach Brian Daboll said earlier on Tuesday that Barkley isn't being ruled out for Thursday night's game against the San Francisco Giants to kick off Week 3. It's good news that Barkley's injury doesn't appear very serious, but fantasy managers shouldn't get their hopes up that he plays this week. If he's inactive, Matt Breida is the best bet to lead New York's backfield, with Gary Brightwell and rookie Eric Gray serving as complementary change-of-pace options.
