Wilyer Abreu Remains Out Tuesday
1 year agoBoston Red Sox rookie outfielder Wilyer Abreu (hand) is missing another game on Tuesday as the team takes on the Texas Rangers and right-hander Nathan Eovaldi. Abreu injured his left hand while crashing into the outfield wall on Sunday and will now miss his second straight game. Fantasy managers should continue to consider the 24-year-old day-to-day. The Red Sox will roll with Masataka Yoshida, Adam Duvall and Alex Verdugo from left to right field on Tuesday. Abreu made his major-league debut with the BoSox on Aug. 22 and has held his own at the plate since then, going 20-for-55 (.364) with a home run, five doubles, 10 RBI, three stolen bases and eight runs scored in 20 games played. It remains to be seen how much playing time he'll get with less than two weeks remaining in the regular season.
