Bubba Wallace Needs Some Help To Advance
1 year agoBubba Wallace enters Saturday night's Bristol race 19 points beneath the playoff cutline after blowing a tire and hitting the wall at Kansas last weekend while running second. Unfortunately, having bad luck at his best track means he likely needs a great finish at a track that has historically been not so good. In eight starts on the paved Bristol track, he has only led six laps, has never finished better than 10th, and has earned only two stage points. However, he has several advantages. Tyler Reddick's win means 23XI will naturally put its full effort behind Wallace, and Reddick carries top-10 speed. However, his deficit is large enough that he will likely need other drivers ahead of him to have bad luck.
