Zach Neto Is Pain-Free
1 year agoLos Angeles Angels rookie shortstop Zach Neto (back) is pain-free and rejoined the team on their road trip. He started baseball activities in New York on Aug. 25 and has been playing catch on the field and advanced to taking dry swings. Neto also did some infield work on Monday. He initially went on the injured list on Aug. 4 after he had been dealing with lower-back inflammation since late July. With the 22-year-old still likely to need a minor-league rehab assignment, he's probably several weeks away from a return to the Angels' big-league roster. Neto had earned the everyday role at the 6 in his first big-league season and has hit .241 (54-for-224) with eight home runs, 14 doubles, 30 RBI, five stolen bases and 31 runs scored in 67 games this year.
