Los Angeles Rams running back Zach Evans did not show much in Saturday's 34-17 loss to the Las Vegas Raiders. Evans ran for 20 yards on eight carries while catching his lone target for seven yards. Considering the circumstances, this was a good day, but it is worth noting that Evans played behind Ronnie Rivers and Royce Freeman during this game. The sixth-round rookie running back out of Ole Miss showed his efficiency in college and will look to return to that as he is battling for the RB3 spot on the team.--Saleh

Los Angeles Rams running back Zach Evans led the team's backfield with 14 carries for 45 yards and two rushing touchdowns in Saturday's preseason finale against the Houston Texans. Evans scored on runs of 4 and 3 yards. It wasn't an extremely efficient game for Evans, but he was able to find the end zone twice and out-rushed his competition in Boston Scott (11 carries for 34 yards). Evans and Scott are competing for a backup role behind Kyren Williams and Blake Corum.--Brian Buckey - RotoBaller

Los Angeles Rams running back Zach Evans led the team's backfield in touches during the second week of the preseason against the Chargers on Saturday. Evans carried 16 times for 62 yards. The 3.88 yards per carry wasn't super efficient but he got some good work in. Boston Scott had 10 carries for 55 yards as the two battle for the third running back spot behind Kyren Williams and Blake Corum. Evans will need to show a little more efficiency on his carries if he wants to impress the Rams' coaching staff. He also did not catch a pass out of the backfield in Saturday's game.--Brian Buckey - RotoBaller

Los Angeles Rams running back Zach Evans got 12 carries in Sunday's game against the Dallas Cowboys but he totaled only 28 yards. Evans averaged just 2.3 yards per carry in this game as he struggled to get going. He spelled Boston Scott on Sunday as the second running back. He did haul in one target for 24 receiving yards. Evans will struggle to get carries this season in a loaded backfield featuring Kyren Williams, Blake Corum, and Boston Scott.--Brian Buckey - RotoBaller

The Rams Wire's Cameron DeSilva lists Los Angeles Rams running back Zach Evans as being on the roster bubble heading into training camp this summer. The Rams re-signed Ronnie Rivers, drafted Blake Corum in the third round and signed Boston Scott in free agency this offseason, so Evans' place in the RB room is shaky. On top of it, Evans wasn't trusted by the coaching staff last year when Kyren Williams and Rivers were both hurt. With more RB depth in LA now, Evans could be the odd man out heading into the 2024 regular season. The 23-year-old sixth-round selection in 2023 only saw nine carries for 19 yards in 10 regular-season games in his first year in the NFL and might need an injury to a RB ahead of him on the depth chart in training camp or the preseason to make the final roster this year.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
