Michael McDowell Kisses The Bricks At Indianapolis
1 year agoMichael McDowell won the Verizon 200 at the Brickyard on Sunday afternoon in dominating fashion. After starting fourth, the 38-year-old maintained track position throughout the day, leading 54 laps in the effort. The win, which came in a nearly caution-free race, did not come easy, as Chase Elliott was less than a second behind heading into the last turn. This victory guarantees the No. 34 a spot in the playoffs and puts him on the short list of drivers who have won at both Indianapolis and Daytona. McDowell will look to build off of Sunday's win next week when NASCAR goes road racing for the second straight week, this time at Watkins Glen.
