Luke Travers Set To Remain In Australia
1 year agoCleveland Cavaliers guard/forward Luke Travers was one of the team's key players on its route to the NBA Summer League championship in Las Vegas, but the 21-year-old won't be linking up with the main squad when the 2023-24 campaign gets going. "I feel like there was no point signing for a two-way (NBA contract) because the NBL's just as good (as the G League) so they were happy to keep me over here (in Australia)," Travers told CODE Sports. "The talk is just one more year (in the NBL) and hopefully it's a good one." Travers, who was the 56th pick in the 2022 NBA Draft, will play for Melbourne United in 2023-24. He proved himself as a very versatile player in Las Vegas, averaging 7.8 points, 6.8 rebounds, 1.6 assists, and 2.2 blocks.
