Ceddanne Rafaela Doing Well In Triple-A
1 year agoBoston Red Sox infield/outfield prospect Ceddanne Rafaela hasn't missed a beat since being promoted from Double-A Portland to Triple-A Worcester on June 28. In that time, he has hit .261 with four homers, seven RBI and one stolen base. Between both levels, Rafaela has hit .289 with 10 homers, 44 RBI and 31 stolen bags. The 22-year-old has always had strong defensive skills in the outfield and around the infield, but his bat finally caught up this past season when he hit a career-high 21 homers with 86 RBI. Rafaela has enough defensive versatility to make an impact at the next level, but the Red Sox are likely to continue developing his bat with the hope to lower his chase rate (66 strikeouts in 71 games) and strengthen his eye at the dish. For the moment, Rafaela has more value in dynasty leagues and would be nothing more than a dart throw in single-year deeper mixed leagues.
