Bo Naylor Given A Rest Day
1 year agoCleveland Guardians catching prospect Bo Naylor will take the day off on Friday against the visiting Kansas City Royals. The Guardians will give the young backstop a breather after a rough start in 2023. Naylor played in his first five MLB games in 2022, and in his next 14 games this year, he's gone just 7-for-47 (.149) with a homer, double, three RBI, seven runs scored and 18 strikeouts in 52 plate appearances. The 23-year-old Canadian, who is the younger brother of Cleveland first baseman Josh Naylor, still has a very high long-term ceiling at a weak position, but fantasy managers will need to be patient. With Naylor sitting on Friday, Cam Gallagher is behind the plate and batting ninth against Royals left-hander Daniel Lynch.
