Buccaneers Motivated To Prove Doubters Wrong
1 year agoNow that legendary quarterback Tom Brady has retired, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers aren't expected to be contenders in 2023, but that's not how the current players see it. "We're about to do it to 'em," cornerback Carlton Davis said. "Anybody who feels we've lost Tom -- and lost something -- is going to be in for a rude awakening. A rude awakening. Tom was a great addition for us, but obviously it's a team sport. Obviously, you need components to be successful. We still have those components. And I'm only getting better." Davis was ranked 81st among all corners last year in defensive grade, but the Bucs re-signed him for three years and $45 million this offseason. It's going to be tough for Tampa to surprise folks, but the good news is that they reside in one of the weakest divisions in the NFL in the NFC South.
