Oliver Ekman-Larsson Lands In Florida
1 year agoDefenseman Oliver Ekman-Larsson has agreed to a one-year, $2.25 million deal with the Florida Panthers. He joins the Stanley Cup finalists as a free agent after Vancouver bought out his contract on June 16. Ekman-Larsson had a disappointing time in Canada, but he's only just turning 32 and has previously proven himself as a very classy defenseman in Arizona. The Panthers could rely heavily on Ekman-Larsson at the start of the new campaign, as the team's top two defensemen Aaron Ekblad (shoulder) and Brandon Montour (shoulder) have undergone surgery in the offseason and look set to miss the start of 2023-24. Florida also added Niko Mikkola and Mike Reilly to its blue line on the first day of free agency, while losing Radko Gudas to Anaheim.
