Jazz Chisholm Jr. Could Return During Road Trip
1 year agoMiami Marlins outfielder Jazz Chisholm Jr. (toe) could come off the injured list to rejoin the team during their road trip this week. "He's trending in the right direction," manager Skip Schumaker said over the weekend. "Hopefully we'll see him at some point on this road trip. I'm not going to put a timeline on it, but that's obviously the hope." Chisholm has played in four minor-league rehab games for Triple-A Jacksonville and has gone 3-for-12 with a double and three RBI as he attempts to return from a toe injury that will require surgery in the offseason. The 25-year-old should return to being Miami's starting center fielder once he's activated, but it remains to be seen how his injured toe will affect him offensively the rest of the way. He was hitting just .229 (33-for-144) with seven homers and 14 stolen bases before injuring his toe.
