Andrew Abbott Extends Scoreless Streak
1 year agoCincinnati Reds starting pitcher Andrew Abbott took the mound for his second career start on Saturday versus the St. Louis Cardinals. The left-hander looked sharp as he went 5 2/3 scoreless innings, allowing five hits, and striking out four batters in the 8-4 win. The 24-year-old needed 105 pitches to work into the sixth inning, but was able to keep the tough Cardinals lineup off the scoreboard. He's worth a look in some deep leagues, but will have a tough challenge versus the Houston Astros on Friday.
