Aaron Judge Injury Update

New York Yankees outfielder Aaron Judge (toe) is headed to the 10-day injured list with a contusion and a sprain in his right big toe, per skipper Aaron Boone. The 31-year-old made an admirable catch to rob J.D. Martinez of an extra-base hit on Saturday, but at the cost of crashing into the bullpen fence in right field at Dodger Stadium which caused the damage to his toe. Judge doesn't have a clear timetable for a return at this juncture, but fantasy managers will be relieved to hear there's no break or fracture.

The 2022 AL MVP will be shelved for at least a week, though, and his AL-high 19 homers to along with an MLB-best .674 SLG and 1.078 OPS will be sorely missed by both the Yankees and fantasy managers alike for however long the superstar is sidelined.

Byron Buxton Injury Update

Minnesota Twins outfielder Byron Buxton (ribs) has been placed on the 10-day injured list on Tuesday. This doesn't come as a huge shock after Buxton missed the last three games due to a left rib contusion. The organization tried to avoid using the injured list, but ultimately Buxton needs time to rest and recover.

In a corresponding move, outfielder Trevor Larnach has been activated from the injured list. He'll cover left field and bat fifth versus right-hander Zach Eflin on Tuesday. Fantasy managers should expect Larnach to be more involved with Buxton sidelined.

Jose Altuve Injury Update

Houston Astros second baseman Jose Altuve (oblique) is expected to be back in the starting lineup for Wednesday's game against Chris Bassitt and the Toronto Blue Jays, according to MLB.com. The former MVP has missed the past four games as he deals with an oblique issue.

This is great news for fantasy managers, who already went without Altuve for the first month and a half of the season while rehabbing from a thumb ailment. The 33-year-old has slashed .286/.388/.500 with two homers, eight runs, and six RBI across 11 games. Fantasy managers should expect Mauricio Dubon to move back into a part-time role, even with his .294 batting average.

Carlos Correa Injury Update

Minnesota Twins shortstop Carlos Correa (heel) was able to make it back into the lineup on Tuesday versus the Tampa Bay Rays. He went 1-for-4 with a double, which broke up Zach Eflin's early no-hit bid in the fourth inning, and three strikeouts in his return. The 28-year-old was out of action for the last three games as he continues to manage the plantar fasciitis in his left foot.

Correa has been a massive fantasy disappointment, hitting just .208/.298/.375 with 6 homers and 24 RBI over 192 at-bats this season. It's fair to wonder if Minnesota would better suited sending their $200 million slugger to the injured list for a spell to mend his balky foot a bit. Correa may have to deal with the issue all season, regardless, and it seems the Twins will continue to take a day-to-day approach with the two-time All-Star.

Cody Bellinger Injury Update

Chicago Cubs outfielder Cody Bellinger (knee) will need a rehab assignment before returning to the club, Jordan Bastian of MLB.com reports, but nothing is scheduled yet. The former MVP hasn't played since May 15 after suffering a left knee injury during a play in center.

Bellinger was enjoying a solid bounce back after two awful seasons with the Los Angeles Dodgers, slashing .271/.337/.493 with seven homers, 29 runs, 20 RBI, and nine steals over 37 games. Fantasy managers would love to have the 27-year-old back right now, but he might not be back until the end of June.

Anthony Rendon Injury Update

The Los Angeles Angels activated third baseman Anthony Rendon (groin) from the 10-day injured list on Tuesday and optioned infielder Livan Soto to Double-A Rocket City in a corresponding move. Rendon was out since May 15 due to a left-groin strain, but he's now back in the starting lineup.

The 33-year-old didn't go on a minor-league rehab assignment, so he could be a little slow to get going again offensively. Although he had just one home run in 103 at-bats before his injury, Rendon had been playing better so far in 2023, hitting .301 (31-for-103) with four doubles, 20 RBI and two stolen bases. Fantasy managers should get him back into their lineups

Riley Greene Injury Update

Detroit Tigers outfielder Riley Greene (leg) began playing catch on Tuesday, according to MLB.com, a necessary step in the rehab process. The former top prospect has been on the shelf since sustaining a stress fracture in his left fibula during a game on May 30. Greene looked to be breaking out before the ailment, slashing .296/.362/.443 with five homers, 29 runs, 18 RBI, and six steals over 52 games. Fantasy managers shouldn't expect to have the 22-year-old back until at least the beginning of July. In the meantime, Jake Marisnick will likely keep getting the majority of reps in center, but he's batting just .167 through 15 games and owns a career .663 OPS.

Joc Pederson and Thairo Estrada Injury Update

The San Francisco Giants activated outfielder Joc Pederson (hand) and infielder Thairo Estrada (wrist) from the injured list on Tuesday, and both players are started against right-hander Dinelson Lamet and the Colorado Rockies. Pederson is served as the designated hitter and batting third, while Estrada hit in the two-hole. In corresponding moves, infielder Brett Wisely and outfielder Bryce Johnson were optioned to the minors.

Pederson returned for the first time since landing on the IL on May 15, and he's likely to continue playing only against right-handers. The 31-year-old is hitting .235 with five homers and 18 RBI this year. Estrada has been great with a .301 average, six home runs, 17 RBI, 30 runs and 13 stolen bases in 193 at-bats.

Lourdes Gurriel Jr. Injury Update

Arizona Diamondbacks outfielder Lourdes Gurriel Jr. (groin) was held out of the starting lineup for the second straight game on Tuesday. The 29-year-old missed Tuesday's contest versus the Washington Nationals due to tightness in his groin.

He was reportedly available off the bench if needed, which means this is probably a minor injury. Fantasy managers can be hopeful that Gurriel is back for Wednesday's contest. He's slashing .310/.359/.550 with nine homers, 35 RBI this season, so fantasy managers should be patient.

Gunnar Henderson Injury Update

Baltimore Orioles third baseman Gunnar Henderson (back) remained out of the starting lineup for Tuesday's game against the Milwaukee Brewers. The rookie infielder was removed from Saturday's contest due to lower back discomfort.

He sat out on Sunday and it appears he's still dealing with the issue. Henderson did mention he is feeling better and should be in the lineup on Wednesday. In the meantime, Ramon Urias will cover third base and bat seventh versus right-hander Freddy Peralta.
