Rougned Odor Hitting Out Of The Leadoff Spot Monday
1 year agoSan Diego Padres second baseman Rougned Odor (groin) is hitting out of the leadoff spot Monday night against right-hander Kyle Hendricks and the visiting Chicago Cubs. It's just the second start out of the leadoff spot this season for the veteran, who has bounced back nicely in his first season with the Friars. Odor's bat has been well below league average in each season since 2017, but his four homers, two stolen bases, 10.1% walk rate, and improved 20.2% strikeout rate have helped him to a 101 wRC+ that puts him a single hair above the league average. He dodged an injured-list stint himself and is taking the leadoff spot from Xander Bogaerts, who is out for the second straight game due to a wrist injury.
