Billy Hamilton Approaching Rehab Assignment
2 years agoChicago White Sox outfielder Billy Hamilton (hamstring) could begin a minor-league rehab assignment in the next week to 10 days, according to general manager Rick Hahn. Hamilton has been sidelined since May 10 due to a left-hamstring strain, but he could return to the White Sox in early June as long as he doesn't have any setbacks with his hammy on his rehab assignment. The 32-year-old speedster is hitless in just two at-bats for the Pale Hose over three games this year, and he won't be guaranteed a spot on the team's active roster once Chicago deems he's healthy enough to return. Even if Hamilton rejoins the White Sox, he'll continue to serve as a bench player mostly for his speed on the basepaths.
