Los Angeles Dodgers starting pitching prospect Bobby Miller earned the win in Tuesday's 8-1 game against the Braves. Making his big-league debut, Miller pitched five innings, allowing one run on four hits and a walk with five strikeouts. It was an impressive showing against a tough lineup, and the 24-year-old may have another opportunity to start against the Nationals next week with the Dodgers dealing with rotation injuries. Miller has not pitched particularly well with Triple-A Oklahoma City this season, but he is the organization's top pitching prospect per MLB.com. Fantasy managers may not be ready to throw him into their lineups right away, but they may have to try to pick him up now given his strong first impression.--Connelly Doan - RotoBaller

Los Angeles Dodgers right-hander Bobby Miller will be called up from Triple-A Oklahoma City to make the start against the division-rival Colorado Rockies on Wednesday at Dodger Stadium. Miller will be making his first big-league start of the 2025 season after struggling to the tune of an 8.52 ERA (6.97 FIP), 1.77 WHIP and 52:30 K:BB in 13 starts over 56 innings in his second major-league season with L.A. in 2024. The 26-year-old only allowed three earned runs in 12 innings over three appearances (two starts) for OKC while striking out 11, but he also walked 11. The matchup will be an excellent one on Wednesday in his spot start against the last-place Rockies, but he'll be a volatile fantasy streamer in deeper leagues and for those playing DFS. In his rookie year in 2023, Miller had a 3.76 ERA and 1.10 WHIP with 119 K's and 32 walks in 22 starts.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller

According to Sonja Chen of MLB.com, Los Angeles Dodgers right-handed pitcher Bobby Miller could be a candidate to see a spot start. Chen noted that Miller was not a candidate to see opportunities during their series in D.C., as Miller pitched for Triple-A on Sunday. However, with extra days of rest, the Dodgers could turn to Miller to start a game later this weekend or during the early part of next week. Tony Gonsolin (back) is currently ramping up his workload but may not be officially cleared to return by next week, which could open the door for Miller. Last summer, Miller took a significant step back in the majors as he posted a high 8.52 ERA across 56 innings. In his debut campaign in 2023, Miller performed quite well, tallying 119 punchouts in 124 innings with a 3.76 ERA and a 1.10 WHIP. He is worth monitoring as he could have value in deeper formats if given an opportunity.--Andy Smith - RotoBaller

Los Angeles Dodgers right-handed pitcher Bobby Miller was optioned to Triple-A. Miller was competing for a spot on the Opening Day roster but will begin his season with Triple-A Oklahoma City instead. After a promising rookie season where he posted a 3.76 ERA and a 1.10 WHIP across 124 1/3 frames, he took a significant step back in 2024. Last summer, Miller tossed 56 innings to the tune of a high 8.52 ERA and a 1.77 WHIP. He tallied 52 punchouts and served up walks at a high 11.6 percent rate. He also generated a hefty 47.2 percent hard-hit rate and a 11.5 percent barrel rate, which placed him in the second and third percentiles respectively. Fantasy managers should monitor his status at Triple-A as he could return to the majors if the Dodgers need additional depth later in the summer. He should not be targeted in any redraft formats.--Andy Smith - RotoBaller

Los Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher Bobby Miller (head) is out of concussion protocol and has resumed throwing bullpen sessions. The 25-year-old was struck by a comebacker in their first spring training contest. However, it appears Miller is nearing a return to action and has not faced any setbacks. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his status as he could be cleared to return to the Cactus League in the coming days. After an impressive rookie campaign, the young right-hander took a step back last season as he held an 8.52 ERA with a 1.77 WHIP across 56 innings of work. In 2023, Miller posted a promising 3.76 ERA with a 1.10 WHIP and 119 punchouts across 124 1/3 innings. Miller will likely continue to compete for a role at the back of the Dodgers rotation. However, given their current starting pitching depth, he may need to open the season at Triple-A.--Andy Smith - RotoBaller
