Easton McGee Expected To Have Tommy John Surgery
2 years agoSeattle Mariners right-hander Easton McGee (elbow) is expected to have Tommy John surgery, with Dr. Keith Meister performing the procedure. McGee went on the injured list with a flexor strain in his right forearm, with the cause being instability in his UCL. The 25-year-old will now miss the remainder of the 2023 campaign and most likely at least half of next season. He made his first major-league start on April 29 against the Toronto Blue Jays and tossed 6 2/3 scoreless innings while giving up just one hit, walking one and striking out two. McGee has only tossed 9 2/3 frames in the majors in the last two years, but he hasn't allowed an earned run in that time. In five starts for Triple-A Tacoma, he had a 3.14 ERA, 1.22 WHIP, nine walks and 24 K's in 28 2/3 innings this year.
