Carmelo Anthony Retires From Basketball
2 years agoFree-agent forward Carmelo Anthony has decided to retire from basketball on Monday. After 19 seasons, Melo has decided to call it a career. He'll go down as one of the greatest scorers of all time. He currently ranks ninth on the all-time NBA scoring list. He began his career in Denver after being drafted third overall by the Nuggets in 2003. He played seven seasons in Denver before being traded to the New York Knicks during the 2010-2011 season. Anthony spent six-plus seasons with the Knicks before departing from them as well. After that, Anthony had stints with Oklahoma City, Houston, Portland, and Los Angeles before deciding to call it a career. He's a 10-time All-Star, a six-time All-NBA selection and three-time Olympic gold medalist. It was a fantastic career for Melo and he should certainly be in the Hall of Fame.
