Francisco Alvarez Behind The Dish Thursday
New York Mets catcher Francisco Alvarez is doing the catching and is hitting ninth in the batting order on Thursday against the Cincinnati Reds and right-hander Derek Law. It's the fifth start in a row for the young catcher, and he's also starting in a day game after a night game. The 21-year-old has started to pick it up of late with his bat and is now hitting .228 (13-for-57) with two doubles, three home runs and six RBI in 20 games played. Since the calendar flipped to May, Alvarez has gone 6-for-21 (.286) with two doubles, two home runs and four RBI in eight games. He doesn't have a ton of DFS appeal in the nine-hole on Thursday, but it's a good matchup and he's been swinging the bat much better.
