Zach Eflin Takes First Loss Of Season Tuesday
2 years agoTampa Bay Rays starting pitcher Zach Eflin fell to 4-1 in Tuesday's 4-2 loss to the Orioles. Eflin pitched six innings, allowing four runs on seven hits (including a two-run home run) and a walk with four strikeouts. Despite the loss, the 29-year-old has had a surprisingly strong start to the season with his new team, compiling a 2.91 ERA, 9.26 K/9 rate, and 1.06 BB/9 rate in six starts. His next start should be on the road at the Yankees. Given the variability of pitching to this point, fantasy managers should feel relatively comfortable starting Eflin routinely based on his hot start.
