Peyton Battenfield To Start Again Wednesday
2 years agoCleveland Guardians rookie right-hander Peyton Battenfield is scheduled to make another start for the team on Wednesday against the Detroit Tigers at home. Battenfield was briefly relegated to the bullpen, but he's now back in the starting rotation after the team sent Zach Plesac to the minors. The 25-year-old struck out seven batters in an impressive performance against the Minnesota Twins last Friday and will now get an even better matchup. Battenfield will be a strong streamer for that start and should remain in the rotation in the short term with Triston McKenzie (shoulder) and Aaron Civale (oblique) still on the injured list. In his first five big-league outings (four starts), Battenfield has a 4.07 ERA (5.12 FIP), 1.19 WHIP, 11 walks and 21 K's in 24 1/3 innings.
