Chicago White Sox outfielder Eloy Jimenez (abdomen) underwent an appendectomy on Saturday. The 26-year-old is expected to out next four to six weeks. He complained about abdominal pain Saturday night and was taken to the hospital for further evaluation, which led to removing his appendix. Jimenez is slashing .258/.351/.423 with four home runs, 15 RBI, and 12 runs across 25 games in 2022. Jimenez is expected to go on the injured list and has missed 185 games the last two seasons due to injuries. Gavin Sheets is expected to see an uptick in at-bats while Jimenez is sidelined, and the White Sox could recall outfield prospect Oscar Colas after recently demoting him to the minors earlier in the week.
