Orlando Arcia Begins Taking Dry Swings
2 years agoAtlanta Braves infielder Orlando Arcia (wrist) started taking dry swings on Thursday. Arcia is starting to ramp up his baseball activities after he suffered a microfracture in his left wrist on April 12. There's still no timetable for the 28-year-old's return from the injured list, though, and he's likely to need to go on a minor-league rehab assignment before the Braves feel comfortable activating him. Barring any setbacks along the way, Arcia could return to Atlanta in the middle of May. Before the injury, he was hitting a strong .333 (15-for-45) with two doubles, two home runs and seven RBI in 13 games played. Vaughn Grissom has been handling shortstop duties ever since, and Arcia could return to a bench role when he's ready.
