Zack Wheeler Blanks Astros On Saturday
2 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies right-hander Zack Wheeler hurled six scoreless innings in Saturday's 6-1 win over the Houston Astros. Wheeler struck out seven batters while yielding just three hits and one walk. The 32-year-old threw 104 pitches before being replaced by Seranthony Dominguez in the seventh. On the season, Wheeler owns a 3.86 ERA, 1.22 WHIP, along with 41 strikeouts. He got off to a slow start to begin the season, but he's started to pick things up as he's faced more batters. He also owns a 29.1% strikeout rate and an 8.5% walk rate. Despite a slow start to begin the season, the Georgia native is slowly beginning to right his ship and shape into his ace form.
