Garrett Crochet To Begin Rehab Assignment Sunday
2 years agoChicago White Sox left-hander Garrett Crochet (elbow) is set to start his minor-league rehab assignment with Double-A Birmingham on Sunday. Crochet is getting close to returning from Tommy John surgery, although the White Sox won't rush the 23-year-old southpaw back into the fold too soon. He is almost 13 months removed from elbow reconstruction and should rejoin the team at some point next month. However, Crochet will likely return first as a multi-inning reliever, and there are no guarantees that he'll be in the team's rotation plans for the rest of the season as he works his way back. In the long-term, though, the White Sox have every intention of building Crochet back up to a starter's workload.
