Byron Buxton Sitting Out Wednesday
2 years agoMinnesota Twins outfielder Byron Buxton is not in the starting lineup on Wednesday against the New York Yankees. It looks to be a regular day of rest for Buxton in a day game on Wednesday. The 29-year-old has been eased into action mostly as the team's designated hitter early in 2023, and he's batting .244 (20-for-82) with four doubles, a triple, four home runs, 10 RBI and 14 runs scored in his first 22 games. He has hit two home runs and three doubles in his last six games. It's disappointing he hasn't stolen a base yet, but if he can stay healthy, Buxton is a fantasy difference-maker. Jose Miranda is serving as the designated hitter and batting cleanup, with Willi Castro at third base and hitting ninth against Yankees right-hander Domingo German.
