Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Sal Frelick (thumb) was recently placed on the 7-day minor-league injured list. He suffered a left thumb sprain last week, which ended up requiring him to have surgery. The 23-year-old underwent successful UCL repair surgery on Tuesday. He's expected to miss 6-8 weeks while he recovers. That is a tough blow with the Brewers already without Garrett Mitchell (shoulder) for possibly the entire season. In the meantime, Joey Wiemer will continue starting in center field for Milwaukee.--Andy Webb
