Jason Vosler Designated For Assignment
2 years agoThe Cincinnati Reds designated infielder Jason Vosler for assignment on Monday and selected the contract of outfielder Henry Ramos from Triple-A Louisville in a corresponding move. Vosler was an early season bright spot for the Reds out of the gates, but he struck out way too often and fell back to Earth hard in recent weeks, causing the Reds to cut him. The 29-year-old left-handed hitter is currently batting .161 (10-for-62) with two doubles, a triple, three home runs, 10 RBI and 25 strikeouts in 65 plate appearances over 20 games. The move to DFS Vosler likely means that we'll see Wil Myers more at first base, at least until Joey Votto (biceps, shoulder) is cleared to make his season debut.
