San Francisco 49ers quarterback Trey Lance couldn't provide an update on recent trade rumblings. The signal-caller was asked about a potential deal involving him during the North Dakota State Bison's final spring practice on Saturday. However, Lance responded, "I got no comment on that," before adding, "I have no information." The 2021 No. 3 overall pick is rumored to be on the move, with reports suggesting the 49ers are accepting phone calls. Considering the 2023 NFL Draft is around the corner, a time when teams make moves to improve their rosters, it's understandable why there is interest. But Lance hasn't lived up to expectations in his short tenure in the National Football League, throwing for 797 yards, five touchdowns, and three picks while completing only 54.9% of his attempts in eight appearances. Although he can get things done on the run, the ankle injury suffered early in the 2022-23 campaign could significantly impact him in that area. Nevertheless, if the 23-year-old is traded and starting for a new team come Week 1, his fantasy stock will increase. Yet, if Lance remains in San Francisco, he'll likely back up Brock Purdy (elbow), at least once the latter is healthy enough to suit up.
