2 years agoColorado Avalanche defenseman Devon Toews played a key role in Thursday's 3-2 comeback victory against Seattle. He helped to set up Valeri Nichushkin for a game-tying goal and netted the game-winner himself with seven minutes left to play in regulation. Artturi Lehkonen also had a goal and assist in the contest as the Avalanche saved themselves from a 2-0 series deficit. Toews, who contributed five goals and 10 assists in 20 games during Colorado's Cup run a year ago, came up big for the team Thursday and had no trouble adjusting to a new partner after he was paired up with Samuel Girard, while Cale Makar skated with Bowen Byram. All four players ended up with at least one point in the contest, so the shake-up worked out great for the Avalanche.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
